“Cathedral View” is a luxurious mews-style town house situated in a conservation area in a very quiet location in the centre of the historic cathedral city of Wells with off-street parking (something of a rarity in Wells). It is equipped to the highest specifications and has views to the famous 12th century Gothic cathedral and across the Vale of Avalon to Glastonbury Tor beyond. There is a good selection of inns, restaurants and shops within a five minute walk.
Situated in the heart of Somerset, Wells is the
smallest cathedral city in England. It caters for most everyday needs,
offering good shopping facilities as well as restaurants and pubs, a
cinema, churches of most denominations, together with open-air markets
on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Wells is a popular film location. The most recent productions filmed here are Hot Fuzz (starring Simon Pegg) and The Golden Age
(starring Cate Blanchett). One of our guests remarked after watching
the DVD of Hot Fuzz when staying at the house, "it gives a whole new
meaning to the phrase "holiday footage!"
